BREAKING NEWS! Former UNR president fired from Baylor

In a shocking and unforeseen move, Baylor University’s Board of Regents fired Baylor president, John Lilley.

The action came on the heels of woefully unfounded allegations that Lilley’s leadership was creating tension among Baylor faculty.

UNR’s campus community was in mourning yesterday upon hearing the news of Lilley once again leaving a top post at an academic institution.

UNR journalism professor, and the campus’ top Lilley supporter, bemoaned the news.

“Once again, the collective soul of an educational institution will be crushed in the wake of Lilley’s absence,” Highton said.

Like with UNR, “John has left Baylor better than he found it,” said Howard Batson, chairman of Baylor’s board of regents. “John had a passion for the research element of (Baylor) 2012. We are appreciative of his service and love for the university.”

Highton relayed that the silver lining in Lilley’s firing is that Reno will once again be blessed with the former president’s presence.

“It’s reported that Lilley will be returning to Reno to retire,” Highton exclaimed. “If we’re lucky, we might even see him on campus!”
