Las Vegas child sets fire and sends grandma to hospital

After listening repeatedly to Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”–backwards–a young child sent a grandmother to a Las Vegas hospital after playing with matches yesterday.

According to the Las Vegas Sun–a paper that’s simply too hot to handle, and not just because of its name–”a young child playing with a lighter ignited a small sofa in a home in the northwest Las Vegas Valley today, sending a grandmother to a local hospital, Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said ….

“Firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire about 11:45 a.m. Two adults and three children were in the home at 7517 Wandering St., near Farm Road and Tule Springs when firefighters arrived, Szymanski said.”

Reno attorney Ken McKenna–who made a name for himself by losing the high-profile Judas Priest case in 1990, in which McKenna alleged Judas Priest’s homoerotic leather, whips and Harleys, each celebrated with backwards messages on what were then known as long-play vinyl records, caused death, destruction, drug abuse, Satanism, murder, rape, pillaging, sexism, speciesism, racism, ageism, the First Amendment and the Holocaust–said he would consider taking the case on behalf of the toddler by trying to prosecute country musician Cash.
