Mullet spotted in Reno’s North Valleys

University anthropologists rush to the scene

Considered a social relic by many, a mullet was reportedly spotted today in Lemmon Valley, north of Reno.

University of Nevada, Reno anthropologist Richard Andreson said he and his colleagues are on the case.

“We received a report of a mullet sighting at a local hardware store,” Andreson said. “A number of us are investigating the report.”

Eye-witness accounts support the claim.

“I saw ‘im,” said Maybelle Uddershock, an innocent bystander. “He was missin’ a tooth too. Jus’ about scared the piss outta me.”

Andreson cautioned a quick rush to judgment, however.

“While mullets are thought to be a thing of the past, we must all be sensitive to this situation,” he said. “We are being proactive by educating those in the immediate vicinity about the dangers of appearing ethnocentric. In addition, when we find this person of interest, we are going to have to do a serious intervention. We don’t want this to turn into the Bigfoot of Nevada.”

Andreson added that he and his colleagues are attempting to sort out who will be the lead investigation of the mullet sighting.

“I think we’re just going to do rock, paper, scissors,” he admitted. “We are academicians after all.”
